How to Find Sommie in Fire Emblem Engage

When you first visit the Somniel in Fire Emblem Engage, you’ll notice that there’s a small shrine tucked away in a tunnel. It appears empty at first, but eventually, you’ll find a strange creature named Sommie who rests within the Shrine.

You can find Sommie’s shrine nestled within the grotto near the southern edge of the Somniel. Take the path downhill on the west side, or take the stairs on the east side, as both paths will lead into the grotto.

Sommie’s grotto can also be fast traveled to.

Approach the shrine, and Vander will appear to give you a brief introduction to Sommie. After the cutscene, interact with the shrine again, and you’ll be able to do stuff with Sommie.

You can feed Sommie a snack, pet it, or dress it up. All three actions will increase Sommie’s affection for Alear. You can do every action as many times as you like, but Sommie’s affection will only increase the first time after every battle.

Rewards Sommie Provides

Petting Sommie is an easy way to gain a bit of affection. Feeding Sommie makes you choose a food item to give, and we think each item has varying amounts of affection gained.

Dressing up and changing Sommies accessory will also give you a bit of affection. It doesn’t matter if you change its accessories or scarf color, as both options will give you the affection increase.

Petting and feeding Sommie will reward you with Bond Fragments for the first time you do it on every return trip to the Somniel. This is an easy way to get Bond Fragments, so don’t forget to show Sommie some love after battles!

When Sommie’s affection is high enough, you can ask it to help you out during training sessions. If you’re struggling with a certain exercise, Sommie can step in and assist. What a good buddy!

Everyone needs a good training buddy.

Eventually, Sommie will also begin to follow Alear around as they explore the Somniel. You can tell where Sommie is by the little icon with ears on the mini-map. If Sommie isn’t at the shrine, you can still interact with it to get the normal options.
