How to Find Mesprit, Azelf, and Uxie in Pokemon Brilliant Diamond and Shining Pearl

Before you can even think of catching the 3 Lake Guardians, you need to have taken down Team Galactic on Mt. Coronet’s peak, which means you’d need to progress pretty far into the game’s story.

Once you’re finished with the climax of Team’s Galactic’s story, you can now proceed to catch Mesprit, Azelf, and Uxie. Since Mesprit is the toughest to capture, we’ll be talking about it first:

Where to Find Mesprit in Pokemon Brilliant Diamond and Shining Pearl

Initially, coming across Mesprit is pretty simple:

1. Visit Lake Verity.
2. Surf to the middle island and enter the cave.
3. Speak to Mesprit.

Once the cutscene ends, Mesprit will escape into the wild, where you can find and capture it. But doing that isn’t so easy. What you need to do now, is obtain the Marking Map Poketch app.

To do this simply head to Jubilife City and enter the Northwest building. Talk to the President (man with a mustache) a few times to receive the Poketch app called Marking Map.

The Marking map will let you find where Mesprit’s current location is on the map. Every time you enter and/or exit an area, Mesprit will randomly change locations, however. So you need to be a little patient in order to let Mesprit wander into the same area that you are in.

After you manage to get it in the same location as you are, get into a random Pokemon encounter to face Mesprit!

Where to Find Uxie in Pokemon Brilliant Diamond and Shining Pearl

Compared to Mesprit, finding Uxie should be a walk in the park:

1. Enter Snowpoint City.
2. Head left to reach Acuity Lakefront.
3. Keep going left until you enter Lake Acuity.
4. Surf on the lake.
5. Enter the cave in the center of the lake..
6. Uxie can be found inside, waiting to battle you.

Where to Find Azelf in Pokemon Brilliant Diamond and Shining Pearl

This process is as simple as finding Uxie:

1. Head to Valor Lakefront.
2. Head left until you reach Lake Valor.
3. Use Surf to reach the island.
4. Enter the cave.
5. Azelf can be found inside, waiting to battle you.
