How to Get Magby in Pokemon Brilliant Diamond and Shining Pearl

Before we get into the meat of the matter, we need to get one thing out of the way: Magby is a Pokemon Shining Pearl exclusive. This means that Magby can only be encountered in the wild in Pokemon Shining Pearl.

What this also means is that if you’re playing Pokemon Brilliant Diamond, you will simply have to resort to getting a Magby by trading with someone who is willing to part with one.

Where to Find Magby in Shining Pearl

Finding Magby is pretty simple: all you gotta do is look for it in the Grand Underground. Don’t worry, we won’t leave you hanging with such vague information, so just follow the exact steps below to catch your own Magby:

  1. Enter the Grand Underground using you Explorer Kit.
  2. Enter the Hideaways present in either: Typho Cave, Volcanic Cave, or Sandsear Cave.
  3. You may need to exit and re-enter these hideaways numerous times, as the encounter in these Hideaways are randomized, and the encounter rate for Magby is low.
  4. Once you have entered a cave and spotted a Magby, simply walk into its line of sight to get into a battle with it.
