The original Mario Kart 8 has been released back in 2014 on the unlucky Wii U console, but the game did receive a second chance five years ago when Mario Kart 8 Deluxe released alongside the way more successful Nintendo Switch, complete with all the DLC that released for the original game.
Since release, however, Mario Kart 8 Deluxe received very little in terms of additional content, despite the game being extremely successful and fans clamoring for new content. It seems like, however, Nintendo listened to its fans, and more tracks are coming to the game in the future.
So, when exactly is Mario Kart 8 Deluxe getting expanded with new tracks? Let’s find out.
When is Mario Kart 8 Deluxe Getting New Tracks?
During the February 2022 Nintendo Direct, the Japanese company announced the Mario Kart 8 Deluxe Booster Course Pass that will grant access to a whopping 48 new tracks. These tracks will be lifted from all previous entries in the series, and some tracks from Mario Kart Tour are also set to be remastered for the latest main entry in the series.
It will take some time, however, for all 48 tracks to release. The first eight tracks will launch on March 18, and every other will launch in groups of eight throughout this year and 2023. These first eight tracks will be Ninja Hideaway from Mario Kart Tour, Sky Garden from Mario Kart: Super Circuit, Shroom Ridge from Mario Kart DS, Tokyo Blur from Mario Kart Tour, Coconut Mall from Mario Kart Wii, Choco Mountain from Mario Kart 64, Toad Circuit from Mario Kart 7, and Paris Promenade from Mario Kart Tour.
How to get the New Mario Kart 8 Deluxe Tracks
All 48 additional Mario Kart 8 Deluxe tracks will be available only as part of the Mario Kart 8 Deluxe Booster Course Pack, which can be purchased for $24.99 USD. It is also part of the Nintendo Switch Online + Expansion Pack subscription, so subscribers to the expanded Switch Online service will get all of them for free.
