Currently, the game is hosting the Avian Ambush Week, which means you are sure to spot a ton more chickens than there were previously. Out of these chickens, some that you will find are called Loot Chickens.

What is a Loot Chicken in Fortnite?

Loot chickens are a special type of chicken that has been added into Fortnite during the ongoing Avian Ambush Week. Just like crows, you can identify a Loot Chicken by the vibrant glow that they emit.

Loot Chickens drop items of various rarity, and the color that a Loot Chicken possesses determines what item rarity is holds, which usually tends to be of Epic rarity. Do not take them lightly just because they are mere chicken though, because they will be sure to hurt you badly with dangerous pecks if you are not very careful.

It has been reported that most of the Loot Chicken population spawn nearby Tilted Towers, but you can easily find them in any of the grassy areas of the map as well.

Avian Ambush Week ends soon on Match 15, 9am ET, with which the Loot Chicken population will disappear too, so make sure you get out there and beat up those darned chickens while you still have the chance!
