The library in question is located in the Gauntlet of Shar, the section of the Baldur’s Gate 3 map you get to explore in the second act. This location contains multiple levels and even more puzzles. While it may be daunting to solve them all, the loot is well worth the trouble—at least, in my opinion.

The Silent Library, which contains this particular puzzle we want to solve here, is located in the lower levels of the Gauntlet of Shar. What can silence the Nightsong in Baldur’s Gate 3?

The answer to the riddle “What can silence the Nightsong?” in Baldur’s Gate 3 is: Only the Nightsinger herself—Shar. Mistress of the Night. Lady of Loss. However, the answer itself is not that important. If you want to get the goods from the Silent Library, you need to find the book that contains this answer and place it on the table with the riddle. The book that answers the question of what can silence the Nightsong is called Teachings of Loss: The Nightsinger.

The tricky part with this whole location is that you can’t rely on any spoken spells, since the library has a silencing spell on it. The bookcases around you are full of booby traps, and you also have to eliminate some enemies inside.

Once you can explore the area freely and feel ready to grab the book, you should head to the northeastern bookshelf in the first section of the library, i.e. the second bookcase on your right as you enter. Deal with the trap if necessary and get the book. Then, head back to the table in the back room and place the book on it. Finally, go into the new room that opens and claim the Spear of Night, the Dark Justiciar Helmet, and the Dark Justiciar Half-Plate.
