Players who’ve spent a ton of time playing Warhammer 40K: Darktide while in pre-order Beta must’ve come across the Penances menu by now and have learnt about its rewards system and what they’ll earn by completing them. So in this article, we’ll be going over what are Penance Points in Warhammer 40K: Darktide.

Warhammer 40K: Darktide – What Are Penance Points? Explained

Penance Points in Warhammer 40K: Darktide is simply a form of achievement that players can complete in the game by doing certain actions and doing them well. There are up to seven different Penances that players can achieve in Darktide including, Class, Mission, Offensive, Defensive, Team and Account.

Apart from it being a form of achievement, Penance Points are also a unique tracker to keep track of the number of Penance a player has completed in Darktide. So apart from ascertaining a player’s skill, the Penance Points don’t exactly serve another purpose in the game.

Each Penance Points a player gets will add a certain amount of points to their overall points and they can check how many Penance Points they have by visiting the game’s Penance achievement menu as well as track their Penance Points.

And to complete a Penance in Warhammer 40K: Darktide, players should visit the Penance menu and check the requirements for the different types of Penance. The majority of Penances, with the exception of Class variations, can be achieved by all characters on your account. And in order to complete special Class Penances, players will have to switch to the required character.
