1. Get all three medals!

On each level, you can acquire up to three kill medals based on your performance. Each medal is rewarded at a certain score threshold, and it’s up to you to score high! With every medal you get, you’re rewarded with some ore, which is very useful for forging new equipment! Eventually you will start to run into medal locked levels in the campaign, which can only be unlocked once you have enough medals.

2. Aim true and kill fast!

Take out your enemies with accuracy and speed! Every enemy you kill adds a little bit onto your score multiplier, which can be seen at the top left. Killing enough increase it from x1 to x2, then x4. If you can keep mowing down your enemies, you’ll rack in a ton of points. Master this mechanic as it’s key to scoring big in this game. Be relentless and don’t let up!

3. Don’t let your main gun overheat!

Your main weapon, the machine gun at the start, can fire short bursts before it begins to overheat. Watch the yellow meter around your targeting reticle – that shows how much heat your gun has. If it’s about to run out and you hear beeping, stop firing immediately. Shooting any further will cause your gun to overheat, which disables it temporarily. As you can see, this can be very bad – overheating at the wrong moment will make you miss out on big points. Get into the habit of shooting in small bursts.

4. Forge new equipment!

Throughout the first chapter, you’ll learn how to acquire new wargear aside from finding it from enemy drops. As you get extra pieces of wargear that are too weak to use, you can combine them in the Forge to create stronger wargear. Check your total wargear rating – it’s the number next to the circle icon. This is a general summary of your overall strength. Whenever you have extra gear, see if you can improve any part of your loadout. Keeping your mech in top-shape is important to surviving the later levels!

5. Send out your Salvage team daily!

Your salvage team can be sent out to explore for you. They’ll bring back random goodies for you, and you have a small chance of getting some really rare stuff! You can send them out for free, but then you have to wait around 12 hours for another chance. You can also spend gold to send them out whenever you want. You can get by with the free send outs, though. Just make sure to send them out daily!

That’s all for now. Tomorrow, we’ll be back with another guide on how to get more gold in Freeblade. Until then, if you have any other tips or tricks to share, leave a comment below!
