Unique Platform Game Type:Rider Releasing At Midnight On App Store

This article is over 10 years old and may contain outdated information

Learning history has never been so much fun thanks to a variety of games featuring historical settings. The Assassin’s Creed series is the first one that comes to mind, but there are many other titles that combine a unique historical setting with even more unique gameplay mechanics.

Type: Rider has been developed by some truly creative minds. During the course of this puzzle/platform game you will have to complete platform sections and simple puzzles not too differently from games of the same genre like Limbo and NightSky.

What sets Type: Rider apart from these games is the unique historic setting which is actually used as a design gimmick. Just to make an example, you’ll learn about 16th book burnings in a stage where you will have to dodge fires. All the stages are quite different from one another, making the gamplay experience quite varied.

If you want to know more about the ages represented by the game’s stages, you’ll also be able to read small encyclopedia pages.

Aside from completing each stage, you’ll also be able to get more game time from Type: Rider by collecting some hidden objects found in all of the game’s stages.

As if all these features aren’t enough, the developers have included three different control shemes and a really nice soundtrack by AudioGaming. This is really a labor of love, folks!

Type:Rider will be released on the App Store for iPhone and iPad at midnight for 2.99$. Make sure to not miss it if you like quirky and creative games.
