Paras

paras from pokemon

Paras is in the Obsidian Fieldlands and is likely one of the first Pokemon you will encounter in the game. While they look adorable, you’re going to want to proceed with caution because Paras spits poison that will leave you damaged if you get too close. If you’re going to catch one, make sure to do it crouched from a distance where they can’t see you.

Staravia

staravia from pokemon

Starly are fairly harmless Flying type Pokemon that will usually run away when spotted. Their middle evolution, Staravia, is a different story. Staravia hang out in flocks mostly in the Obsidian Fieldlands and will not hesitate to attack you on sight, sending out Flying type attacks that hit from all directions. This makes them particularly tricky not to get damaged by sometimes, especially when there is more than one. One flock hangs out just above the spot where you can toss Feather Balls to catch a flying Togekiss and if they see you, will interrupt your attempts to catch it.

Abra

abra from pokemon

Abra isn’t a Pokemon that you have to worry about attacking you, but it will challenge you in a different way. This Psychic type is easily scared and when it senses danger, it will dart immediately via Teleport. This makes it very tricky to approach, as its powers can even alert them to your presence from far away. To catch one, you’ll need to use some Stealth Spray to mute your footsteps and toss some berries to distract it. Make sure to approach it from behind. You can find it at Windswept Run in the Obsidian Fieldlands.

Teddiursa

If you want an Ursaluna for your party, you will need to capture its first form, Teddiursa. You can first find them at the Ursa’s Ring area in Crimson Mirelands. These fuzzy eared Normal type little bear cubs look like the definition of innocent, and to an extent, they are. Teddiursa themselves won’t bug you. However, the fact that most of them are always being guarded by a giant alpha Ursaring mostly likely will. If spotted, it will charge at you like a bulldozer. This makes Teddiursa impossible to get close to. To catch one, make sure to stay crouched in the grass and try to only toss balls at the Teddiursa when the Ursaring is wandering further away.

Haunter

Haunter from pokemon

Pokemon may not be a horror game by genre, but it has its fair share of otherworldly Pokemon that can give you a good scare. One of these is Haunter, the evolved form of Ghastly. Not only does Haunter hit hard when it attacks, but it has the power to teleport to be right in front of you out of nowhere, the sneaky poltergeist giving players both a jumpscare and surprise attack that’s tricky to escape. If Haunter shows up in front of you, press Y immediately to get out of the way of their attack.
