Use Bowlers to funnel the main army

Judo Sloth’s bowler funneling advice

Bowlers can be played as all-rounders in Clash of Clans. You can use bowler’s boulders to clear multiple buildings in a row and create a straight path for the rest of your army. However, there are some key things to note.

When using bowlers for funneling, make sure that they are safe from long-range defenses like mortars, archer towers, canons, etc. Bowlers are squishy when left alone with no protection. You can drop a giant in front of a bowler to help it clear the area.

Bowlers need tanking

While bowlers can deal tons of damage, their low health holds them back. If you plan to use bowlers in your army, be sure to train some tanky troops like golems, ice golems, or giants.

The plan is simple: tanky troops will protect bowlers from defenses, and in return, bowlers will take care of attacking defenses. Adding rage spells will turn this army into a recipe for destruction.

Protect them from giant bombs

Giant Bomb

Giant bombs are one of the worst enemies of bowlers. Because of their low health, two giant bombs placed well together can clear a group of bowlers instantly. You will have to either use your wits or rely on your luck to avoid giant bomb traps in Clash of Clans. This is another reason why sending tank units are recommended for bowler armies.
