The Princess Connect Anime And Game Differences

The Princess Connect anime and game can be confusing if you played the game first or vice versa. These are the differences between them.

Princess Connect Re: Dive is a mobile game developed by Cygames that was a sequel to the original Princess Connect. Originally released in Japan, the game received a global launch soon afterward. However, the anime came to the west before the game did, which might leave players with a slightly different experience than someone who was able to follow both at once. In order to clear any confusion, these are the differences between the anime and the game.

Yui Has A Different Role

If you played the game and then watched the anime, you may be wondering about Yui. Yui is a close companion to the main character Yuki in the game story and is one of the starter characters given to you for free. She is quite an important person to Yuki’s story, so you may be surprised to see that she does not have a main presence in the anime. This is because the anime mainly focuses on the adventures of the Gourmet Guild and uses the other guilds as side characters or characters of the day. Yui is part of Twinkle Wish, so her showing up will always be tied into them.

The Story Is Paced Differently

In the game, the main character appears to do a lot of things on his own whereas in the anime, he spends much of the first season under the care of the Gourmet Guild. The series is paced in a Konosuba style compared to the game’s focus, which consists of telling the plot with a wider lens point of view. Because of that, the anime and game have the main character meet others in different orders. The stories are the same at the core, but are just mapped out differently, with the game’s main story starting out mostly documenting the experiences of Yuki and Kokoro.

The Character Development Is Different

Because of the nature of time limits in anime, it’s hard for a viewer to get the full story of the side characters shown. Therefore, you could say playing the game is a supplement, as it has a side story for each character that is told in a visual novel style. The more you bond with and raise a character, the more of their side stories will unlock.

Overall, neither the game nor the anime are necessarily better than the other and are equally worth checking out.
