Don’t be fooled by the crazy cast and the colorful art style – Super Senso is a very complex strategy game. You’ll need to be on your A game as you take on the world in online player versus player matches. With different unit types and different tactics, which army will outsmart the others and come out on top? Hopefully you with the help of our Super Senso cheats, tips and tricks strategy guide!
Super Senso is very reliant on actual strategy and tactics planning, so we’ve got some stuff to cover! Let’s get started with our Super Senso tips and tricks guide!
1. Practice with the challenges!
In the Quests submenu, you’ll find a tab for Challenges. Challenges are fixed levels where you’re given a preset number of units. You’ll need to get through the level under special conditions, such as losing no units. These challenges offer a focus on specific unit interactions.
While you can’t deploy your own units like in regular games, you can learn more about specific unit match ups here. Before you jump into a game against another human player, we recommend taking a shot at the challenges to get used to how tactical portion of the game is played.
2. Build a balanced deck!
In addition to your Senso hero, you can bring five unit cards with you into battle. Each unit is unique in their own way, so you’ll need to balance your deck out. An important factor to keep in mind is the senso-gel cost. Each unit has a green number at the top right corner of their card; this shows how much senso-gel they require to be deployed.
You’ll want an even amount of units that have low and high gel costs. During the first rounds of a match, you’ll generate four or five senso-gel. If your deck is comprised solely of high cost cards, you won’t be able to deploy any units! At the same time, if you have too many low cost cards, you won’t be able to take advantage of the stronger units. It’s all about balance!
3. Strategize!
With all of this in mind, it’s time to think up of a game plan. Try to tailor your deck to how your play style is while keeping it balanced in terms of senso-gel costs. Do you like to play defensively and let the enemy come to you? Try out a deck with low movement/high damage units like the Mortar-type units who can damage multiple enemies but can’t move very far.
You can also use units that have shields – the Guardian Senso is a perfect compliment to this kind of style. Do you like to take the offensive? Try out a deck with close range, fast moving units. There tons of units and Sensos to try out here, so experiment to see what you like best!
3. Tactics
The goal of Super Senso is to destroy your opponent’s core. As you learn in the tutorial, you can accomplish this through two ways. You can attack the core directly which is usually the harder route, or you can opt for a more strategic push. Recall the combo meter during the tutorial – every time you destroy an enemy, your combo meter will charge up a bit. When your turn ends, the enemy core will be bombarded by an orbital laser dealing damage equal to how charged your meter was.
Let’s go over a couple of important nuances to this:
- The amount of combo meter gained from an enemy kill depends on the type of unit that was destroyed. Generally speaking, low senso-gel cost units will only provide one bar of charge while high cost units provide more than two, sometimes even up to three, giving you an automatic multiplier. Like they say, with great power comes great responsibility. While the high cost units are always packing a lot of power, it is absolutely crucial that you do not let them be destroyed, especially if you have other nearby units that are weakened. The orbital beams can rack up to an alarming 300-400 damage if charged enough to get damage multipliers.
- Speaking of multipliers, charging three segments of the combo meter will provide a damage multiplier to the orbital bombardment. As we mentioned above, this is one of the most effective ways of inflicting massive damage on your opponent’s core. With the right setup and careful execution, you can damage – but not destroy – your opponent’s units to critical condition. If you can block them off from running away, you can take them all out on your next turn for a big combo multiplier. Mastering this strategy is key to victory!
