Starlit On Wheels Tips, Cheats & Guide to Win All Your Races

This article is over 5 years old and may contain outdated information

The newly released racing game Starlit on Wheels doesn’t really push the pedal to the floor when it comes to the level of challenge, but you can still take a look at our Starlit On Wheels cheats and tips below to make sure you know how to play the game and get the most out of it.

A racing game with personality and a lot of cuteness, Starlit On Wheels challenges you to win races against the clock, upgrade your kart and have a lot of fun. That’s exactly what I did when I played the game, as you can find out from my Starlit On Wheels review.

But we’re here to learn more about the game and how to win each race, so let’s just do that and check out some Starlit On Wheels tips and tricks below!

Stick to the Story Mode
The Story Mode has tracks that are not that challenging and fun early on, but they’re made this way with a reason: your kart is too weak to compete in the other types of challenges and stages.

So take your time and go through all the Story Mode missions first: the more, the better! This way you not only learn how to better control your vehicle, but you also complete missions, level up and unlock valuable pieces of equipment that improve your car’s stats and give you more chances where it matters – in the online cups.

Customize your car
You should always look at the pieces you have collected for your car and make sure that you’re always equipping the best ones you have. There are a lot of categories to choose from, so make sure that you browse through them all.

In my opinion, the most important things to look at are, in this order: Speed, Handling, Boost and Acceleration. So choose equipment pieces that boost these more than other stats – even if they are of a lower level or rarity than other pieces of equipment you have. You don’t want the rarest, fanciest bits, you want the ones that help you win races!

Also look at the very important boosts offered by the items you equip. A really important one is Nitro, which gives an instant boost and is activated and increased by Rear and Spolier gears!

Upgrade your equipment
An important thing you can do with your equipment pieces is upgrade them. You upgrade pieces from the vehicle customization menu by tapping the Oli’s Cauldron in the top right corner.

You should wait for a while before starting to upgrade your equipment, because in order to do so you will need to throw into the cauldron other pieces that you have collected.

However, early on, you won’t have a lot of good ones – like the rare of epic pieces of equipment that you will get eventually, so you’d be just wasting good level-up materials.

Instead, work on just one or two (your best) equipment items and wait until you have Epic Chests opened and some rarer pieces of equipment available. This way, you reduce wasting your pieces as much as possible.

Go Online for Top Rewards
Once you three-star the 10th mission in Story mode (which shouldn’t take you that long, actually!) you can start trying out the Online Cups. This is where the best rewards are, but you’re competing against other players and only the best placed get the top rewards.

The truth with most online cups is that your vehicle’s stats matter the most here and you won’t be able to push for the first place unless you really have a top notch car, no matter how well you drive.

But your skill does come into play if you are to race against similar karts, so play each race a few times in order to get the best possible run. Even if you’re not first when the online race finishes, you’ll still earn some nice rewards.

Remember, an important thing in online races is that you get no penalty (like in the Story Mode) for hitting the opponent’s cars!

Grab those stars!
When on the track, there are two things to look after:

1. Stars, since they give you a speed boost and scoring as many as possible in a row makes your car go faster and faster

2. Obstacles, since they slow you down and make your life miserable. There are a ton of obstacles in the game, but they all slow you down. The idea is to know where they are and prepare in advance. This is achievable either by keeping an eye on the track and looking at what’s coming next or, even better, from experience.

Replay races
The “experience” I was mentioning above comes from simply playing and replaying tracks. Most of them are very difficult, requiring you to pull some super moves to avoid obstacles and get the speed stars and you can’t master them after just one try.

Therefore, play each track at least a couple of times before giving it your best. Remember, your car’s stats matter a lot so you might need to level up one or two pieces of equipment if you still can’t beat your opponents, despite avoiding all obstacles and collecting all stars.

Raise money for the best chests
Premium currency is awesome, because it gives you the chance to unlock chests with equipment of the rarest and best quality. However, premium currency is difficult to get for free… but you should be patient. With any type of currency, actually, you should take your time and wait until you have enough to buy the best crates. It’s that simple!

These would be, for now, our Starlit On Wheels tips and tricks. If you have anything else to add to our guide to make it even better, don’t hesitate to post your comment below.
