There isn’t a soul on Earth who hasn’t played, or at least, heard of Space Invaders. The classic arcade game has been released over and over accross multiple hardware generations, so if you haven’t experienced the classic, you definitely have played at least one of these ports.
And if you haven’t had enough of this classic arcade game, you will be happy to know that a modern take of its experience is currently in the works for iOS and Android.
Space Invaders AR seeks to bring the classic experience into the new generation with the help of augmented reality. The game is being developed by Square Enix Montreal in collaboration with TAITO, the creators of the original, so fans of the series should be in for somethinbg very good.
Unfortunately, the teaser trailer doesn’t really show how the game will play, focusing more on celebrating the series. You can take a look at it right below.
