Sonic The Hedgehog 4 Episode 2 Working Correctly On iOS 8.3

This article is over 10 years old and may contain outdated information

In the past few days, several games published by SEGA have been removed from the App Store, such as the great port of Jet Set Radio and a few other titles. Instead of working on iOS 8 compatibility updates for some of these titles, the publisher preferred to just remove from the App Store.

Even though some of the SEGA games are no longer available for purchase, some of them are now strangely compatible with iOS 8.3. A forum user from the Touch Arcade forums has confirmed that Sonic The Hedgehog 4 Episode 2, the second part of the platform game starring the blue hedgehog, actually works with the latest iOS update. It doesn’t seem like the game has been updated in any way, though, as the game freezes when the opening cutscene is skipped. The game, unfortunately, is not available for purchase so if you didn’t purchase it before, there’s no way to do so right now.

Last month Sonic The Hedgehog and Sonic The Hedgehog 2 have received iPhone 6 compatibility updates. Before the update, both games were almost unplayable on the latest iPhones, as a bug forced the game to run in a small window. Following the update, both games work as intended.
