Snowbreak: Containment Zone Strategy Guide: Tips, Cheats and More

Learn some helpful tips to get through Snowbreak: Containment Zone.

Containment Zone Aleph, once a beautiful city, is now caught in a never-ending “winter”. It’s up to you and Heimdall Force to find a way to put an end to this relentless storm, and we’ll help you along the way with our Snowbreak: Containment Zone tips and tricks strategy guide.

Tip #1: Power Through the Main Story

Like most other mobile gacha games, Snowbreak: Containment Zone has a rather lengthy story mode that is spread across multiple chapters. You should try to complete as much of the main story as you can, as many of the game functions are locked behind certain levels.

Things like performing summons, upgrading operatives, unlocking farming levels, and so forth are locked behind main story progression. To be exact, you need to complete stage 5-12 to unlock the last major component of the game.

Even if you’re skipping through all the cutscenes, getting to chapter 5 will take a few hours, so be sure to set some time aside to just power through the main story.

Notably, completing stage 4-12 nets you a free orange-tier operative. If you’re having trouble deciding on who to go with, be sure to take a peek at our Snowbreak: Containment Zone tier list for some recommendations.

Tip #2: How to Master the Combat System

While Snowbreak is a fairly straightforward third-person shooter, there are some things going on that you may not be aware of at first. Here are some general tips when it comes to shooting down the bad guys.

  • There are five types of damage: kinetic, electrical, thermal, frost, and chaos. Kinetic is the physical damage type that’s good at breaking shields, and the four elements each have their own status effects.
  • Taking cover isn’t really necessary early on as enemies barely do any damage to you and you can take them out really fast. It’s only important later on during hard mode stages and boss fights.
  • Your operatives’ support skills are helpful, so don’t forget to use them. Some of them can even buff your lead operative, which we’ll go into more detail later.
  • If you’re having trouble with a particular boss, it might help to read up on its stats and buffs. If you pause the game during a boss battle, you can see any potential buffs and status effects the boss has.

Tip #3: How to Build a Team

It’s not readily apparent, but Snowbreak: Containment Zone actually has some synergies between operatives. There are certain operatives that focus on dealing damage, and there are some that can be considered as supports.

In general, it’s a good idea to focus mainly on a select few damage and support operatives for a balanced team. Your damage operatives should have different types of attack for maximum coverage; for example, Lyfe (Wednesday) focuses on electrical damage, while Acacia (Redacted) specializes in chaos damage.

You can spread resources across multiple operatives if you want, but be warned that you’ll eventually be hurting for them later down the road, as Presence (energy) becomes a bit of a bottleneck.

So, who is considered a support in this game? Basically, any operative that grants a buff to the lead operative whenever you use their support skill. Examples include Fritia (Little Sunshine) with her thermal attack buff, and Chenxing (The Observer) who can heal the lead operative.

It’s a good idea to go through all the operatives you own and think about who you love playing as the most, and see if they have any synergies with each other.

Tip #4: Choosing the Right Weapons & Logistics

Keep in mind that weapons and logistics also play an important part in an operative’s performance. Every individual weapon has its own skill, so make sure you equip your favorite operatives with weapons that have complimentary skills.

Some weapons can boost attack power among other things, while others focus on hardening your operative’s defense. The way you build is up to you, so experiment with different weapons.

In general, it’s best to only use resources improving weapons that are at least purple-tier. Don’t bother with green or blue-tier weapons, as they get outclassed by the higher rarity weapons very quickly.

This applies to modifying as well; you’re probably going to end up with a lot of low-tier duplicates, and as tempting it may be to modify all the weapons, it’s going to cost a lot of SilverBucks that would be better spent towards higher rarity weapons.

Logistics are fairly straightforward like weapons. For most operatives, the two stats you mainly want to look for are ATK% and Crit DMG%. Crit rate is a decent choice, but if you can reliably land headshots, which are automatic critical hits, then you can ignore it in favor of the other two stats.

Tip #5: Best Things to Spend DigiCash on

DigiCash, those purple crystals you get from clearing certain things, are the premium currency in Snowbreak. You can earn more of them by completing daily and weekly challenges and the main story stages.

The general consensus is that you should save your DigiCash for Echo pulls. While we’re at it, let’s talking about the Echo banners. In general, use the tickets (Operative Recruitment Chit, Manifestation Echo Covenant, etc) you earn from completing tasks to pull on normal banners. After that, DigiCash should only be spent on limited-time banners.

You can bend this rule however you want, but this is generally the best way to get the most bang for your buck. Unless you really want to get a certain operative or weapon, you should try to stick to this guideline.

We hope this guide helps you get started in Snowbreak: Containment Zone. If you have any other tips or tricks you’d like to share, let us know in the comments below, and if you haven’t already, check out our Snowbreak: Containment Zone codes for some freebies!
