How to Analyze Enemies in Shin Megami Tensei V

Shin Megami Tensei V

The first time you encounter a new enemy, if you try checking out their stats by pressing the Y button during any of your turns, you will find the stats info screen devoid of any useful information.

To analyze the enemy and display information like the Skills any enemy can use, their Skill Potential, and their Weaknesses and Resistances, you will have to use a Spyglass. This item, which can be used by the Nahobino from the start and by demons once you learn the Knowledge of Tools Miracle, will reveal all the information on any particular demon at once upon use. If you do not use a Spyglass, but you still defeat enemies, all the relevant information will appear in the stats information screen the next time you fight them.

Spyglasses are pretty cheap, as they go for only 75 Macca by Gustave at the Cadaver’s Hollow, so you need to make sure you are always well-stocked with them. As these items also work on bosses, they can make your life easier against all sorts of enemies, even against those that feel like will never go down!
