HopBound is a psychological horror runner that is the sequel to AppSir’s previous horror entry, Dere Evil EXE. While the story is connected to Dere Evil EXE, HopBound‘s story is also self-contained so players unfamiliar can still enjoy HopBound.

In HopBound, players will take control of Mayumi playing a retro game, complete with 2-bit graphics and brutal difficulty. The levels are laid out like a runner, and it only takes one hit for Mayumi to go down, so you will need to be on your toes.

Along the way, Mayumi will encounter all sorts of horrific, twisted creatures that are trying to stop her at all costs. Many of them are inspired by creatures from the previous games, whereas some are all new entities.

Dere Evil EXE features a fully fleshed out and spine-tingling story mode where you will discover the fate of Mayumi. For those who are more interested in high scores, there is also an endless mode where you can see how far you can get.

HopBound is available now on the App Store and Google Play Store.
