If you took a look at our list of Sync Pairs in Pokemon Masters, you know that there are 65 in total that you can unlock. But how to unlock all sync pairs in Pokemon Masters? That’s what we’re going to talk about in today’s article.
The truth is that it won’t be easy. Especially when it comes to those high value, 5-star Sync Pairs that you want so much. But we’ll go through all the options that you have and hopefully you’ll be able to make the most out of them.
1. First of all, when it comes to unlocking new Pokemon and Sync Pairs, the easiest way to do it without having to spend any real life money is from completing the regular story missions in the game.
Every now and then, you will reach a specific point where you will unlock a new Sync Pair. This won’t happen often and – at least early on – we’re only talking about 3-star sync pairs, but at least they are offered to you for free and you can still put them to good use.
Remember to check out our general Pokemon Masters tips and tricks to learn how to get better at this game and win battles even with 3-star Sync Pairs.
2. Take advantage of the special in-game events.
This is something that can’t be anticipated, but there will be events that will make it easier for you to get extra Sync Pairs and even get a chance at receiving one of the rarer ones.
For example, at the moment of writing the article, as the game has just been launched, there is a special event that guarantees a 5-star Sync Pair if you get the 10 Sync Pair Scout from the store. And this is regardless of what the other 9 draws give you – so there’s potential for more than 1 five star pair in a batch:
Note: To take advantage of this offer, make sure to swipe in the store to the left and actually buy the 10x Sync Pair Scout that has the “One time only! 5star Guaranteed!” text above, and not the regular 10x scout.
Of course, in this case – and in the case of future events most likely – it will be a bit more difficult for free to play gamers to take full advantage of the offer… but if you’re already looking to spend a bit on the game, you get a bigger bang for your buck during these special events.
3. Which takes us to the main way of unlocking new Sync Pairs in the game: spending gems on scouts.
This is the full gacha system that everybody loves and hates: for 300 Gems you get a Sync Pair Scout (which gives you one Trainer/Pokemon pair) or for 3,000 you get a batch of 10. No discounts here, nothing to sweeten the deal. Just plain ol’ gem spending.
However, there is this Daily Discount offer available, where people who spend some money to get gems – and who are a bit patient – can get some sweet drops.
This Daily Discount allows you to purchase a single Sync Pair Scout, once per day, for the promotional price of 100 Gems. The catch is that you can only use purchased gems… but if you plan to spend some money, better be patient and get these daily drops instead.
If you’re wondering what are the chances of getting a rare drop when you scout for a Sync Pair, here are the numbers:
– 70% chance for a 3-star pair
– 23% chance for a 4-star pair
– 7% chance for a 5-star pair
Some people believe that the chances of getting a 5-star increase if you purchase the set of 10, but there is no official confirmation of that and it might simply not be the case.
Apart from the methods listed above, there are really no shortcuts or easy ways to cheat the system and get more Sync Pairs in Pokemon Masters.
However, the game offers you a decent amount of Gems early on to have a pretty varied set of pairs available for you to work on. As a free to play player, I managed to get around 10 scouts with free Gems only in around 24 hours. So not bad.
Of course, these numbers won’t keep up as the Gems rewards will get lower as time goes by, but that’s a good start nevertheless.
