Presently, there is no way of catching the Flying Pikachu in Pokémon Go. The game’s Air Adventures event arrived on May 3rd 2022 and ended on May 8th. The event has since concluded after the latter date.

Although players cannot get the Flying Pikachu from the event, they can get still get a Balloon Pikachu by trading with another player. In order to trade, you’ll need Stardust and if you have a good relationship with the in-game friends you have, the less it’ll cost you to make the trade.

The trade will be far more expensive if you have a low friendship level with the player you want to trade with. Players are advised to work on reducing this before moving forward with a trade, unless they can comfortably afford it.

Additionally, before a trade is made, players will need to be within 100 meters of each other. This means that you simply can’t reach out to a random stranger online and request to trade with them. Niantic has taken a solid stance on that to protect players.

So that’s the way to get a Balloon Pikachu in the game right now. If you don’t have anyone to trade with locally, then patiently wait for the next Pokémon Go event that includes a Flying Pikachu.
