Pokémon Go’s Fashion Week 2021 event has officially kicked off, and Trainers can face off against special Fashionable Trainers with equally fashionable Pokémon! There are many Fashionable Trainers to battle against, but today we’ll be looking at the Rugged Challenger specifically. Today, we’ll show you how to battle a Rugged Challenger in Pokémon Go!

How to Battle a Rugged Challenger

Like the other Fashionable Challengers, the Rugged Challenger can be found hanging around PokéStops. Walk around your favorite place to play Pokémon Go, and be sure to interact with all the PokéStops you see to challenge the Fashionable Trainers.

There are six types of Fashionable Challengers you can battle against: Eccentric, Quirky, Cool, Sassy, Slick, and Rugged, each with their own unique set of three Pokémon. Rugged Challengers have the following Pokémon:

Unlike the other Fashionable Challengers, the Rugged Challenger has a somewhat balanced team, in the sense that you probably won’t be able to sweep the entire team with just one Pokémon.

Furfrou is a Normal-type Pokémon, so you’ll want to bring a Pokémon that knows some Fighting-type moves. Kirlia is a dual-type Psychic and Fairy Pokémon, so Poison, Ghost, and Steel-type moves work best. Finally, for Mienshao, you’ll want to use Flying, Psychic, or Fairy-type moves as Mienshao is Fighting-type.

Remember that all the Fashionable Challengers have a preset team that never changes, so you always know what to expect when battling them. Defeat their Pokémon and earn some nice rewards!
