Pokémon Brilliant Diamond and Shining Pearl - Underground Features, Explained

The recent Pokémon Presents showcase that was broadcasted on The official Pokémon YouTube channel showed to us new Pokémon games. It is going to be Pokémon Brilliant Diamond, Pokémon Shining Pearl, and Pokémon Legends: Arceus. Today we are going to talk about the first two. These games take place in the Sinnoh region and of its main features is the Underground. This is a maze filled with tunnels and caves that lie beneath the whole region. This article will tell you about all the new features of Underground in upcoming Sinnoh region Pokémon games.

Grand Underground in Pokémon Brilliant Diamond and Shining Pearl

The Underground is one of the most remarkable features of the Sinnoh region. It is a giant maze of hundreds of corridors and tunnels. There are lots of entrances to it, and the Underground spreads across the entire region. In the new Pokémon games Brilliant Diamond and Shining Pearl, the Underground was updated to the Grand Underground and it going to have some new features.

After you obtained the Explorer Kit during your journey in the Sinnoh region, you can go and start some Grand Underground activities. You can dig up different treasures or find Pokémon Fossils. Also, you will be able to build a Secret Base. You will need to dig into a wall with a sledgehammer and pickaxe. You can find different statues there that you will be able to place later in your Secret Base.

Another thing you should know about is Pokémon Hideaways. These are secret regions in the Grand Underground where you can find Pokémon that inhabit there. Hideaways may be different starting from still-water caverns and ending with volcanic landscapes. There you can find some special Pokémon that do not live on the surface.
