How to Defeat Dweller-in-Darkness in Marvel’s Guardians of the Galaxy

Marvel's Guardians of the Galaxy

The Dweller-in-Darkness is fought in Chapter 4 and it is the first proper boss battle in the game. It is far from being the most difficult, but it is challenging enough.

The battle is divided into two different phases. During the first phase, you will have to attack the creature’s tentacles with long-range attacks, so offense will all be on the shoulders of Star-Lord and Rocket’s Guardian ability. Focus on a single tentacle while avoiding their attacks, which are indicated by a warning sign. Once tentacles have been damaged enough, they will drop down so that the other Guardians can attack them. Use Groot’s Entangle ability to keep tentacles down, which will be severed with enough damage.

The second phase of the Dweller-in-Darkness boss battle starts once all tentacles have been destroyed. During this phase, you will have to dodge bombs while killing Jackogels. After dodging them, you will get a prompt for Dax to throw them at the boss. Repeat this enough times, and the Dweller-in-Darkness will be defeated.
