The Mario Kart Tour holiday-themed Winter Tour has been launched a few days back, and the time was right for it to be updated with some brand new content to keep players engaged.

The new update for the Winter Tour introduces a brand new character, Pink Gold Peach. The character comes with a new special item, the Coin Box, which leaves coins on the track so that they can be picked up by other characters. Isn’t she generous?

The new update also introduces the Wildfire Flyer kart and the Royal Parachute glider as well as the Baby Mario Cup, which features the Cheep Cheep Lagoon R, Choco Island 2, and DK Pass T tracks.

Mario Kart Tour has been released a few weeks ago worldwide on iOS and Android, and it’s a decent rendition of the experience that fans have come to love on Nintendo consoles. The game has also been recently updated with a new control scheme, which makes driving and drifting slightly easier. Things are still not perfect, but we’re definitely on the right path.

Sadly, the biggest issues found in Mario Kart Tour hasn’t been addressed. The game features an aggressive monetization scheme, with the Gold Pass locking content behind a paywall. While this usually isn’t all that bad, the fact that it is a costly subscription makes it rather bad, especially if you do not play the game daily. The Gold Pass required to get additional rewards as well as to get access to the 200cc class, which is unavailable without it.

Mario Kart Tour is now available on iOS and Android worldwide.
