This article is over 5 years old and may contain outdated information

Mario Kart Tour released without a functional real-time multiplayer mode, but it has been promised that it would come shortly after launch. Some weeks have passed since this announcement, and it seems like the time is getting closer for the multiplayer to become available in the popular mobile game.

Starting today, all Gold Pass subscribers will be able to take part in the real-time multiplayer beta testing on both iOS and Android. As kinks are getting worked out, testers shouldn’t expect the experience to be completely smooth.

The Gold Pass is somewhat costly as of now, but the addition of the access to the multiplayer beta makes the price a little more justified. The pass includes access to the 250cc racing class as well as additional rewards and purchasable content that is not available for regular users.

Yesterday, Nintendo released a brand new Mario Kart Tour trailer which showcases the content of the Holiday Tour. This new tour includes Reindeer Yoshi, New Year Paulette and new tracks, divided into 18 cups.

Mario Kart Tour is now available on the App Store and Google Play Store globally.
