Is There any Reason to Wait Before Evolving Pokemon in Pokemon Legends Arceus? – Answered

In previous Pokemon games, there used to be a lot of debate amongst players regarding the best times to evolve certain Pokemon. Pokemon that evolved with the use of Evolution Stones were the center of this very debate.

Pokemon with evolutions that were triggered by Evolution Stones had one major drawback: they couldn’t learn any new moves after evolving. This made people train their Pokemon and let it learn all the useful moves they needed it to, and only then evolve it much later with the Evolution Stone.

Why Should I Wait Before Evolving my Pokemon in Pokemon Legends: Arceus?

Everyone knows that Pokemon Legends: Arceus is a re-imagination  of the Pokemon game franchise, which means the changing of several key mechanics of the Pokemon games. One of these changes was how Evolution Stone Pokemon’s evolutions learned new moves.

In Pokemon Legends: Arceus, it doesn’t matter if Hisuian Growlithe evolves into Hisuian Arcanine with the Fire Stone, it will still learn all of the moves it was supposed to as a Hisuian Growlithe.

So that rules out the need to wait to evolve your Evolution Stone-evolving Pokemon in Legends: Arceus. So is there any reason that’s stopping you from evolving your Pokemon immediately?

There is one reason, and that is to complete your Pokedex. More specifically, the research tasks for a Pokemon’s Dex entry.

Let’s say you need to complete Starly’s Dex entry, and one of the research tasks is to watch it use Gust 25 times. You might as well use your own Starly to complete this task and let it remain a Starly until you’ve seen it use Gust 25 times and have completed that research task.

Other than for completing research tasks, there aren’t many reasons to not evolve your Pokemon. Let ’em grow big and strong and kick everybody’s sour butt!
