The building is endless in this game, and our Idle Island City Builder cheats and tips will show you how to earn lots of money and build efficiently.

Idle Island City Builder is all about making sure your city is balanced and has all of the necessities to grow on its own. We will explain in detail in our Idle Island City Builder cheats, tips and tricks strategy guide!

Tap the planes that fly by!

Every so often you may see the shadow of a plane going across your city. If you see the shadow, quickly move the camera around until you can find the plane itself. Tapping the plane will cause it to drop a package that contains a significant amount of money, so be sure to collect it! These planes pass by every now and then, so keep your eyes peeled. You will even get a quest that requires you to collect a certain amount of packages!

Complete the missions!

In order to guide you through the ropes of city building, Idle Island will always assign a mission to you. You can check it at any time by tapping the button at the top right, and you should try to do as many of these as you can. Upon completion many missions will reward you with gems, the premium currency of the game. Gems can be used for instant cash, instant citizens, or profit boosts. They are very helpful so try to stash up as much as possible!

Find your bottlenecks!

The main method of progression is Idle Island is to simply buy everything possible, whether that be a new building, car, or even research. Eventually though you will hit a “bottleneck,” where one of your factors is limiting the rest of your city. If you do not have enough houses, you cannot allow more citizens to move in. Without citizens, you will not have any sales, and you cannot have sales without stores.

You see the pattern here? You can usually tell what is holding up your city based on what you are short on. To make things easier, the game will tell you when a certain type of building is reaching 100% utilization – that means it is time to build more of that building.

Tap the citizen button with multiple fingers!

Early on in the game you will get an epic research that allows you to simply hold down the citizen button so you do not need to tap it rapidly. While this is handy, we still highly recommend tapping the button because it is much faster. What is even better is that you can tap with multiple fingers to get multiple touch registered, meaning that the process is even faster!

Collect your free gifts!

Little pop ups will appear the top right corner of the screen periodically. Look for the one that has a present icon – it is free money, and usually a LOT! If you see a one with a play button, this is also money but you will have to watch an advertisement before you can claim it. The trade off is that it is even MORE money than the free gifts.

Keep researching!

There is no research not worth getting, as they all add to your total income in some form or another. A few research upgrades we recommend getting as soon as possible are:

  • Better Inviting. This makes the citizen bar recharge much faster, and is the key to quick growth.
  • Newcomers Bonus. Upon inviting a new citizen, you will start a multiplier bonus shown at the top left corner. When that citizen makes a purchase, the money you earn will be multiplied by the number. The more citizens you invite in a short period of time, the better the money!
  • Births. If you want your city to grow population wise, this is the key research you need. This will make it so that your houses will automatically fill up with citizens over time.
