Pokemon Legends: Arceus feels more like a proper role-playing game than previous entries in the series. The added focus on RPG mechanics, while welcome, makes some aspects more complex, like item management.
Unlike previous entries in the series, you will be dealing with limited storage space, as the Satchel can only carry 20 items in its base form. Thankfully, it is possible to upgrade it so as to increase your item storage space and become able to carry all the items you need on your adventure in the Hisui region.

How to Upgrade Your Satchel in Pokemon Legends: Arceus
The ability to upgrade your Satchel in Pokemon Legends: Arceus is unlocked relatively early in the game, but you won’t be able to take advantage of it much until you start earning serious amounts of money, as all Satchel upgrades have a different cost.
To upgrade the Satchel, all you need to do is speak with Galaxy Expedition member Bagin, who you will meet shortly before you leave Galaxy HQ in Jubilife Village and get started on your grand adventure. After the introductions are made, you will always find Bagin in the Galaxy HQ Lobby, and speaking with him will allow you to upgrade the Satchel if you have enough money. Each upgrade unlocks an additional inventory slot for a maximum of 37 additional slots that will bring the total storage space to 60 slots.
