There are a lot of tools in the game that can help you defeat enemies, from basic swords to assault rifles, chainswords, and even boltguns. And then there’s The Eviscerator, a powerful melee attack that can come in handy. In this guide, we’re taking you through how to unlock The Eviscerator in Warhammer 40K: Darktide.

How to unlock The Eviscerator in Warhammer 40K: Darktide

You can unlock The Eviscerator at Level 18 for the Zealot class. If you’re just starting the game, that means there’s going to be a ton of grinding before you can get to that level. But if you’ve been playing for a while, then it might not take all that long to reach level 18 and unlock The Eviscerator.

If you haven’t seen the weapon before, The Eviscerator is a two-handed version of the chainsword that’s a little less nimble and is poorly equipped for taking down individual targets. However, it does gain heavier attacks for potential cleaves—that’s why it’s called The Eviscerator, and with good reason.

Ultimately, The Eviscerator isn’t an easy weapon to get, and if you’re able to unlock it fast by grinding a lot in the early stages of the game, you end up with a pretty powerful melee attack at your disposal. And as the last weapon to unlock in the Zealot class, The Eviscerator is also an alternative to bringing a ranged weapon when battling specials.

Warhammer 40K: Darktide is currently available in pre-order beta and is scheduled to launch globally on Nov. 30.
