How To Unlock Luigi In Super Mario Bros. 35

This article is over 4 years old and may contain outdated information

Super Mario Bros. 35 has taken the world by storm with its unique combination between the Super Mario Bros. platform experience and battle royale mechanics. The Super Mario Bros. experience in the new battle royale game is extremely faithful to the original, so much that it is possible to control Luigi in place of Mario.

Unlocking Luigi in Super Mario Bros. 35 is not an easy feat at all, as it requires you to have played a lot of matches and have unlocked everything there is to currently in the game.

To be able to use Luigi during any Super Mario Bros. 35 match, you will need to have reached at least one Star Rank. These ranks are obtained by leveling up past 100, which requires quite a bit of coins. The fastest way to do so is by winning matches as much as possible.

Once you have leveled past 100 at least once, you will be able to use Luigi in any match by holding down the L button while loading a game. The timing of the button press isn’t clear as of now, so we suggest you keep it pressed until the match begins.

Luigi doesn’t control any differently than Mario, so the change is merely cosmetic, but being able to unlock him proves that you are on the right way to becoming a true Super Mario Bros. 35 master!
