How to Reset Your Save in Splatoon 3

While playing this year’s biggest Nintendo hit title, Splatoon 3, on your Switch, you will see no option to reset your game progress or delete the game’s save files. Players who want to play the game from the start with every progress reset to default cannot find any option to make that happen. Seeing that, the community wants to know how to reset your save in Splatoon 3.

Splatoon 3 uses the cloud save and local save data that is hard to get rid of in case a player is trying to start a new game. The only working option to reset saves in Splatoon 3 that we managed to find was a bad one as it involves players making a new account and playing Splatoon 3.

In Splatoon 2, we used to delete Save File via the following menu in the Nintendo Switch System Settings.

System Settings > Data Management > Manage Save Data/Screenshots > Delete Save Data

However, it doesn’t work anymore as the option seems missing. Also, even if you have Cloud Save disabled in your Nintendo Switch, the game saves data using your Switch account. So, getting rid of save files in Splatoon 3 while using the same Switch account is not possible for now.

[Update: November 29, 2022]

You can use the following path to delete Splatoon 3 save file to reset your Splatoon 3 progress.

System Settings > Data Management > Delete Save Data > Choose Splatoon3 > Choose user

Not having an option to start a new game in Splatoon 3 is infuriating, as the developers should allow players to get into the new game whenever they want. Even the thought of using a new Nintendo Account for resetting Splatoon 3 progress is grim.
