In Pokemon Brilliant Diamond and Shining Pearl, just like every other mainline Pokemon game, you can rename your Pokemon by taking it to the Name Rater. The Name Rater can be found in Eterna City, on the first floor of Eterna Condominiums.
Once you’re there, talk to the Name Rater, who will “rate” your Pokemon’s current nickname. If your Pokemon is not a traded Pokemon, he will allow you to change your Pokemon’s nickname to anything you desire.
However, if the Pokemon whose nickname you want to change has been acquired by you through a trade, the Name Rater will say that its nickname is “already impeccable,” and not allow you to change its nickname.
