Dynasty Warriors 9 Empires is all about making your kingdom the mightiest in China, and to unify the nation under a single ruler, you will have to expand your army as well.
Recruiting unaffiliated officers is one way to do so, but it’s also possible to get enemy officers to your side after you win a battle. Here’s how to do it, and why you should avoid executing those that refuse your offer.
How to Recruit Enemy Officers in Dynasty Warriors 9 Empires
To recruit enemy officers in Dynasty Warriors 9 Empires, you will first have to defeat them in battle so as to capture them. If you do, you will get the chance to either recruit, release or execute them.
Recruiting them should always be your first choice, as every officer, even minor ones, have their uses, such as assigning them to remote territories so as to protect them from a vagrant force that may suddenly assemble where least expected. Musou Officers are obviously the most desirable, given their abilities, but there is a place for everyone in your army.
If any officer refuses to join you, you can either release them or execute them. In this case, releasing them is often the best choice, as this will increase your relationship level with them, making it easier, for example, to attempt to recruit them later on while going on a stroll. If the released officer joins another faction, their presence will make it easier to strike an alliance with the said faction.
Executing officers, while not always optimal, is an option to consider if you want a strong officer out of your way. It really doesn’t matter much if you have a powerful army, as you will have no trouble handling powerful enemies, but if you think you will have an easier time with them out of the way, definitely go for it.
