Starting Your Airline Company

Upon starting up Airlines Manager Tycoon 2021 for the first time, you’ll be asked to choose between Quick Mode or Real-Time Mode. In Quick Mode, the in-game clock is accelerated by seven hours, while time flows normally in Real-Time Mode.

Real-Time Mode is suited for those who want the realistic experience of managing different airports. We recommend starting out with Quick Mode if you’re a beginner, as you’ll be able to experience the general flow of the game without having to wait long hours.

Once you’re in, the game will run you through a brief tutorial about the basics of the game. Make sure you pay attention, as this is crucial information you’ll need. After you’re done, make sure to create an account to save your progress, as you’ll be rewarded with free money for doing so.

Scheduling Flights

The main screen of Airlines Manager Tycoon 2021 is a world map that shows you all of your hubs and current flights. If you don’t know where to start, go ahead and tap on the stamp button on the left side—this will open up your Agenda.

The Agenda is basically a list of quests, designed to help you get started with the game and give you goals to work towards. The first objective is to own two routes, so we’ll start with that. Tap on the globe icon at the bottom right, and then tap on Route Creation.

Choose your hub, then choose the route’s destination. Remember that each aircraft has its own category, which determines which runways it’s compatible with. If you choose a destination with a runway that doesn’t fit your current planes, the game will warn you about it.

You have the ability to audit a destination for a fee. What this does is estimate the type of passengers that will be taking the route, so you can plan accordingly. Keep in mind that the audits are not 100% accurate, and you can tell how reliable they are by the colored dot. A green dot means that the audit is mostly accurate, while a red dot means anything can go.

Now that you’ve purchased the route, go ahead and schedule your first flight. Choose a suitable plane—buy one if you need to, as that will complete another one of your first goals on the Agenda—and then schedule according to the info you saw in the audit. The more suitable your scheduling is, the more efficiently the plane can operate!

Researching New Projects

You’ll earn research points (the blue flask) for completing certain goals. Research points can be used to unlock new functions and features of your airports. You can access the Research screen from the Administration menu at the bottom right corner of the main menu.

On the home menu, you can allocate a portion of your budget to generating research points. After the initial burst of free research points, this will be your primary way of earning more. Make sure not to set more than you can afford.

There are five categories of projects you can research. We recommend starting with the General tab, as this will unlock important mechanics that you’ll need to use later down the line to expand your company. Once you purchase a research, you’ll need to wait until it’s done in order to take advantage of it. You can only have one project researching at a time, so make sure you keep your queue busy.

Managing Your Finances

A wise investor will check their Cashflow often. Go to Administration, Finances, and then Cashflow. You’ll see a day-to-day summary of your income and expenses. You can use this data to compare how you’re doing with any new planes or flight routes. If you’re constantly losing money with each day, it may be time to rethink your setup. As a general strategy, it’s better to start small with the cheaper planes.

If you need more analysis on your finances, you can also check out the Financial Summary, which has a whole list of where your income is coming from and where your money is going mostly. Remember, you can always pull out new loans if you’re short on money, but just remember to study the interest rate and conditions before committing. You shouldn’t need to pull out a loan when you’re just starting out, so don’t worry too much about it.

Hiring New Workers

During the guided tour of the tutorial when you start hiring new workers, be sure to pay close attention. One key detail that you need to keep in mind is that as your airlines expand, you’ll automatically gain Agency Workers. Agency Workers offer no bonuses to your airlines and are more expensive in the long run, so you should offer them paid employee positions.

The reason for this is that Recruits can be trained in specialized fields, which will allow you to put them to better use than general workers. They start in Entry Level, move up to Professional, then cap out at Manager. When you have Managers assigned to your facilities, they’ll greatly increase efficiency.

Refining Your Airline

That covers just about the most important aspects of Airlines Manager Tycoon 2021. Keep track of your finances, use the best planes for the job, and make sure to hire smartly. There are some more things to go over, but the guided tour of the Agenda will take you through everything you need to know.

You can research new services for your airlines that can increase your passengers’ comfort but also increase the prices, or you can opt for the cheaper solutions which will do the inverse. Just be sure to balance it and not favor one or the other.

Your planes will deteriorate over time, so you’ll need to perform maintenance on them. Planes with low integrity have a higher chance of accidents happening, and they can absolutely wreck your company, so be vigilant. Older planes deteriorate faster, so you’ll need to keep up.

Don’t forget that you can review any of the important tutorials by tapping on the question mark in the top right corner of the screen!
