A wand is a witch or wizard’s most important tool and in Hogwarts Legacy they can be fully customisable. There are two choices for new players- either sync your Wizarding World account and have the wand assigned to you there, or choose it yourself in-game. Selecting a Wand and Hogwarts House in Hogwarts Legacy
Players can either link their Wizarding World account with Hogwarts Legacy, or they can have their Hogwarts House and own wand chosen for them in-game. Linking the game and the Pottermore website is simple, just follow the steps below:
- Create a Warner Bros account
- Visit the account linking page on Wizarding World
- Click ‘Get Sorted’ if you are not yet sorted into a house, and also choose your wand
- Click ‘Let’s Go!’ on the Legacy account link page
- Click on ‘Go to WB Games’
- Go to Connections
- Link with your gaming platform

Once your accounts are linked your wand and house choices will be made for you, and will reflect the ones given to you via the Wizarding World website.
If you do not want those choices, you can decide to not link your accounts, but instead answer the Sorting Hat’s questions and steer him in the direction you would prefer. The first question “You come here with preferences and preconceptions – certain expectations” will not effect which house you are sorted into so answer whatever you feel is right for you.
The next question, and the one that will determine which house you belong in is: “Hmm. I wonder. Hmm. I detect something in you. A certain sense of – hmm – what is it?”. Each answer corresponds with a Hogwarts House:
- Daring (Griffindor)
- Curiosity (Ravenclaw)
- Loyalty (Hufflepuff)
- Ambition (Slytherin)
Once you have selected your Hogwarts House and your wand, there is no way to change them. You can, of course, customise your wand handle as you progress through the game. The length, style, wood type, core, and flexibility cannot be changed after you purchase your wand.
