Recipe for Shiny Ground Type Boost Sandwich in Pokémon Scarlet and Violet

When you’re out in the wilderness, and you’re on a flat surface, you can open your menu and start a picnic. You can play with your current Pokémon and make sandwiches, which will grant you temporary buffs that can help you do certain things, like find more shiny Pokémon!

You can either use a recipe, or enter Creative Mode and build your own sandwich. You get to choose up to six fillings and four spices. The types of ingredients you pick will determine what types of Meal Powers you get and how potent they are.

Thanks to a user on the GBATemp forums by the name of The_Time_Is_Nigh, we have exact formulas on how to make the perfect sandwiches for shiny hunting.

In the case of shiny Ground type Pokémon, you’ll want to use Creative Mode and add the following ingredients, which will net you Sparkling, Title, and Encounter Power for Ground types all at level 3:

  • Ham x 1
  • Salty Herba Mystica x 2
Be careful when placing the fillings on. You don’t want them to slide off!

All normal fillings and spices can be purchased at Sure Cans, Deli Cioso, and Artisan Bakery, located at most major cities.

The Herba Mystica ingredients are found as rare drops from 5-star and above Tera Raids. 6-star Tera Raids can only be accessed once you finish the main story, and they have a higher chance to drop Herba Mystica.

Some Tera Raid Pokémon will drop all types of Herba Mystica, while others will only drop a certain kind. Since you’ll need a lot of the Salty Herba Mystica, here’s a helpful chart:

  • Gengar
  • Blissey
  • Glalie
  • Eelektross
  • Palafin
  • Amoonguss (5 & 6 star)
  • Dondonzo (5 & 6 star)
  • Cetitan (5 & 6 star)
