To craft an Oak Boat or simply a boat in Minecraft, players need five Oak Planks and a Wooden Shovel.

To make Oak Planks in Minecraft, players need Oak logs which they can get from Oak trees found in Forest, Mountains, Swampland, or the Mesa Plateau area.
Once you have to items, use the crafting menu to convert a decent number of Oak Logs in Oak Planks. After the crafting process is done, move the Oak Planks to your inventory.
How to make a Wooden Shovel in Minecraft
To make a Wooden Shovel in Minecraft, players need two sticks and a single plank of any type. We recommend players to use Oak Planks that they crafted in the previous step.

Assuming you have the required items to make a wooden shovel in Minecraft. Open crafting menu. Inside the top middle grid of 3 X 3, place the plank. And below place the two sticks. Now, initiate the crafting and once it is done, move the wooden shovel to your inventory.
Making the Boat
Now that you have all the pre-requisite items, its time to make a boat in Minecraft.
- Open Crafting menu.
- From the top, add the five Oak Planks forming a U-shape.
If you are using Minecraft Java edition that just using the five Oak Planks are more than enough to make the boat.
However, if you are using Minecraft Windows, PE, or other similar edition, then add the wooden shovel in the top-middle grid as shown above.
Initiate the crafting process, once it is completed, move the boat in your inventory.
