All the cool kids are down here, y'know.

A returning feature that got a mesmerizing makeover in the Pokemon Brilliant Diamond and Shining Pearl remakes is the Grand Underground, which brings back, as well as introduces, new features. You can build your Secret Base, farm useful items, catch rare Pokemon, collect statues, and so much more!

But you can’t do any of those things if you don’t even know how to get to the Underground in the first place! That’s why we’re here to tell you how to get to the Underground in Pokemon Brilliant Diamond and Shining Pearl.

Steps to Unlock the Underground in Pokemon Brilliant Diamond and Shining Pearl

Follow the steps below to easily unlock the Underground in Pokemon BDSP:

Reach Eterna City

This shouldn’t be hard to accomplish. Eterna City is where the second gym leader is encountered, and you have to only play through a small portion of the game to reach Eterna City.

Underground Man’s House

This house is almost impossible to miss. Upon entering Eterna City, you will spot the Pokemon Center. To the very right of it, there should be a house with a blue door and a yellow roof, with the sign “Underground Man’s House” outside of it. Enter this house!

Talk to the Old Man

When you enter the house, there should be an old man inside that you can interact with. He will proceed to hand you the Explorer Kit and explain how to use it. You can dig into the Underground from any place you like in the overworld, even right as you exit the house!

And now you have what it takes to explore the Underground in Pokemon Brilliant Diamond and Shining Pearl without breaking a sweat! That was easy, wasn’t it?
