How To Get The True Ending in Rogue Legacy 2

Completed the game for the first time? Congratulations. Now here's how to get the True Ending in Rogue Legacy 2.

Rogue Legacy 2 is a thrilling platform game and if you’ve been able to complete it, then you deserve a pat on the back. However, there’s an ending that not many players get to see; the true ending. Right at the end a scroll will tell you that there’s a True Ending out there Somewhere.

Some players even stumble upon this ending unknowingly, but if you’re not one of them, then fret not as in this article, we’ll be guiding you on How To Get The True Ending in Rogue Legacy 2.

How To Get The True Ending in Rogue Legacy 2

First off, simply complete the story for the first time. Once you’ve done that, you’ll meet Elpis, a mysterious character that’ll let you start a new “thread” that’s pretty much a new game entirely but with all your unlocks intact. Every time you complete a thread you can add an additional Thread (different from the lore version).

So you’re basically amping up the difficulty and the game will display an “NG+X” on the screen to show how deep you are. And every new Thread you pile on will make the game even more challenging as you’ll be bumping enemy levels up and giving them more stat boosts.

However, bosses you fight will drop Soul Stones every time you start a new Thread, which will make your path to filling out the Soil Shop upgrades a tad easier this time. But you’ll have to give yourself Burdens.

Each new “+” requires increasing Burdens which often come from a large list of additional challenges as well as enemy scaling. Burdens can be stronger enemies and much bigger ones that can alter the biomes and bosses. These are the ones you’ll need for the True Ending and if that’s not daunting enough, you’ll need to get up to NG+8 to be eligible.

This is because beating each cumulative Thread unlocks a Burden to fight a “Prime” version of each boss. This extends all the way to the Burden of Cain, which is not available to you until you’ve completed NG+7.

Eventually, you’ll get the Mysterious Key as well. And you’ll have to take care of it to get the True Ending. It’s also worth noting that you can toggle the game’s Prime Burdens on and off, allowing you to take on just a single Prime fight at a time rather than having to fight the ones you’ve already defeated.

Lastly, you’ll have to complete a run that has pretty much all Prime bosses toggled on at once to get the True Ending of Rogue Legacy 2. Happy Gaming!
