How to Get Shiny Ponyta in Pokemon Legends: Arceus

Pokémon Legends: Arceus is finally here, and it comes with interesting twists to the class formula by taking players to the region of Hisui, a vast continent that’s filled with life, adventures, and exciting new challenges.

Once you’ve become a part of the Galaxy Team in Pokémon Legends: Arceus, you can start completing requests from the various villagers in Jubilife Town that will expose you to many different Pokémon.

One of these special Pokémon is a shiny Ponyta. This is a gorgeous variant of the beloved horse Pokémon, but this Ponyta sports blue flames instead. This request serves as an introduction to this sort of Pokemon and will reward you with the opportunity of catching the Ponyta in the Obsidian Fieldlands.

How to Get Shiny Ponyta

In order to catch the shiny Ponyta, you’ll have to obtain the request first. To do this, check the Laventon board of requests in his office from time to time until you notice the #19 request titled “A Peculiar Ponyta.”

Afterward, you’ll need to go and speak to Yota, the man standing on the bridge next to the farm fields in Jubilife Village. This will trigger a cutscene with Yota explaining a rumor about a strange Ponyta and requesting you to help him check it out.

Now you’ll have to go to the Obsidian Fieldlands, or more specifically, the Horseshoe Plains, where Ponytas usually spawn from time to time. Once you get there, walk around for a bit and you’ll notice the shiny Ponyta walking about as well.

A new cutscene will happen and then you’ll be able to try and catch it. Be careful because it will run away if it notices your presence, so go in stealth mode and get close enough to it, and then throw your Pokeball.

If you follow the steps correctly, you’ll have yourself a shiny Ponyta. Go back and speak to Yota about what you’ve discovered and he’ll reward you with 5 Razz berries, but you get to keep your shiny Ponyta at least, which is the bigger reward.
