Although acquiring Wood and Granite is straightforward, obtaining Shells can prove challenging. This guide will walk you through effective methods to swiftly collect Shells in LEGO Fortnite.

Shells are drop loot obtainable by killing hostile enemies called rollers in LEGO Fortnite. Rollers are crab-like creatures that pretend to be granite stones and keep their bodies hidden underground until a clueless player approaches them. Players can differentiate a roller from a granite stone by noticing a small twig on top of the roller.

As soon as a player is nearby, rollers will pop their bodies out of the ground and start rolling towards players at high speed. Because of their nature, many players have been calling rollers one of the most annoying enemies in LEGO Fortnite.

The best way to get Shells is by hunting and defeating rollers in LEGO Fortnite. Alternatively, you can also start looking for loot chests, as they might also contain a few Shells. I have been lucky enough to get enough shells needed for a crafting bench upgrade from chests. However, loot chests are not a reliable way to get Shells.

How to Find Rollers and Defeat Them in LEGO Fortnite

We recommend searching for rollers in Grasslands and Dry Valleys. These rolling creatures usually like to blend in with granite. Look out for unusually small granite stones with a twig, and you will find yourself getting chased by a roller.

The easiest way to dodge an approaching roller is by rolling left or right. As soon as it stops rolling, quickly start attacking it with your weapon. With a few hits, the roller will go down, and you will be able to collect a Shell. You can instantly defeat a roller by luring it into a river. That’s how I dealt with every roller I encountered, except the ones away from rivers.
