Angry Birds Journey is the latest installment in the long-running Angry Birds franchise. The game was released as a soft launch in 2020 and then another soft launch in 2021, both times for countries in Europe, before being finally available worldwide, with the global launch taking place on January 20, 2022, to a hail of positive reviews.
Life system
Despite the success of the launch, one issue that recurring players of the Angry Birds franchise have always talked about was the life system. Lives have been a fundamental element of the series from the beginning, albeit a frustrating one.
Since many levels require players to replay them, either for a 3-star completion or simply because they didn’t clear it the first time, the issue of not having enough lives plays a large role in the gameplay. The maximum lives a player can have are 5, and once they run out, the “Get More Lives” message will pop up.
But how does a player get more lives?
How to get more lives
There are a few ways by which players can acquire more lives:
- Buying lives
- Waiting
- Asking friends
- Watching videos
Buying lives
By spending some money, players can buy a full set of lives and continue playing.
Waiting
The most basic way to acquire lives. Each life takes 30 minutes to restore, making it a total of 2 hours 30 minutes to acquire a full stock of lives.
Asking friends
The game allows you to ask friends for lives. For each friend that accepts, one life is granted to the player.
Watching videos
Players can watch ads that the game puts out. Each ad will refill one additional life.
If, for some reason, none of these options are appealing to the player, there is another trick that would work. If the player doesn’t like to wait, they can just set their device clock forward to refill their lives. Who doesn’t like a lifehack now and again?
