How to Get Gyroids in Animal Crossing: New Horizons

Animal Crossing: New Horizons

To get Gyroids, you will first have to find Gyroid Fragments. These can be obtained easily by going on boat tours with Kapp’n. The very first island you will explore with the tour will feature a Gyroid Fragment, whose location will be marked on the ground with an X. Dig right on the same spot to obtain it. Gyroid Fragments can also be found in the spots marked with an X on your island.

Gyroid Fragments are essentially seeds for Gyroids, so you will have to plant them to get a fully grown Gyroid. Head back to your island, find a spot where you can plant the fragment, dig a hole with your shovel, open the item menu, and pick the fragment to bury. Water it once, wait for the little puff of steam to come out, which confirms you have watered the fragment correctly, and then wait an entire day to make the Gyroid grow. Once 24 in-game hours have passed, you will be able to dig out your new Gyroid.

Gyroids can also grow naturally on your island if any Gyroid Fragment is buried in the places marked with the X, but only if you have less than 5 planted Gyroids at any given time.

How to Customize Gyroids

Obtained Gyroids can be customized to match the furniture or the theme of your house. To do so, you will need Customization Kits, which can be used on any workbench to change the color and design of any Gyroid. Make sure to take advantage of the customization options offered by the game to make your house and your rooms even more unique!
