Getting Golden Scarabs in New World

The Golden Scarabs are a new tier V legendary resource. They’re somewhat rare and hard to come by, and that’s because they have the ability to let crafters select two perk items. Needless to say, they’re quite valuable, plus they don’t bind on pickup, meaning players can trade and sell them.

If you couldn’t guess, Golden Scarabs are found exclusively in the new zone, Brimstone Sands, located towards the northwest corner of Aeternum. To get your hands on one, you’ll need to hunt down Elite Grave Offerings and Ancient Glyph Chests.

Elite Grave Offerings are a new type of elite chest found in Brimstone Sands. While there are multiple places to find Elite Grave Offerings, the ones that have the highest chance of holding Golden Scarabs are the ones by the sulfur pools.

The other kind of chests that can hold Golden Scarabs are the Ancient Glyph Chests. Once again, these are a new type of chest unique to Brimstone Sands, but they come with an extra twist! Glyph Chests will not open unless you activate the matching glyph statue, so you’ll need to go the extra mile to open these babies up.

To help you with chest hunting, our good friends over at newworld-map.com have updated their interactive map to show you potential spawn locations for Elite Grave Offerings and Ancient Glyph Chests.

The chests with the blue tags are Ancient Glyph Chests. All the others are Grave Offerings.

Here’s a helpful map of all the chest spawns in Brimstone Sands. The areas highlighted with the red circles are the sulfur pools, where the chests have the highest chance of containing the Golden Scarabs. Be sure to check them out!

Keep in mind that you are limited to looting ten Golden Scarabs a day, so you can’t spend the whole day farming for them.
