Technical Machines, or TMs, are data discs that can bestow new moves upon your Pokémon in Pokémon Scarlet & Violet. TMs are a quick and easy way to hone your battle strategies, as you don’t need to grind out levels to learn certain moves. Today, we’ll show you how to get Fire Spin (TM024) in Scarlet & Violet.

Obtaining Fire Spin (TM024) in Pokémon Scarlet & Violet

TM024 teaches the Fire-type special move, Fire Spin. This move attacks with a base power of 35 and 85 accuracy. The target is trapped within a fiery tornado, causing light damage for four to five turns.

Before you can craft TM024 at the TM Machine, you’ll need to find it first. There are two ways to unlock the TM024 crafting recipe, and the first and main way to do it is to conquer the Team Star Dark Crew Base, situated in the West Province.

You’ll be going up against a lot of Dark-type Pokémon, so make sure to bring Fighting, Bug, or Fairy types to gain the advantage.

Upon taking down Giacomo, the leader of the Segin Squad, you’ll automatically unlock the ability to craft TM024 Fire Spin at any TM Machine, among other TMs.

The other way to get TM024 is to find it in the wild. Fly to Zapapico (East) in the East Province, then head north to the location in the screenshot below. The yellow Poké Ball containing TM024 will be sitting at the end of a hillside path.

Once you’ve unlocked TM024, you can craft as many copies as you like at any TM Machine. You’ll need the following materials:

  • 800 LP
  • Growlithe Fur x 3
  • Torkoal Coal x 3
