Getting Crunch (TM108) in Pokémon Scarlet & Violet

TM108 teaches the Dark-type physical move Crunch. Crunch bites onto your target, dealing damage with 80 base power and 100% accuracy. It also has a 20% chance to lower the target’s Sp. Def by one stage.

You can craft TM108 at a TM Machine, but you have to find a copy or unlock the crafting recipe beforehand. There are two ways to do this!

The first method of unlocking TM108 is to conquer Team Star’s Fairy Crew Base, located at Paldea’s northern tip, in North Province (Area Three).

Storm the base to challenge the leader, Ortega of the Ruchbah Squad. He specializes in Fairy-type Pokémon, so make sure to bring Poison or Steel-type Pokémon to counter him.

Defeat Ortega in battle, and you’ll automatically unlock a variety of TM crafting recipes, with TM108 being one of them. If you don’t want to deal with Team Star, you can also just find TM108 out in the wild.

There are two places to find TM108. The first location is in East Province (Area Three), so fly to East Province (Area Three) Watchtower. From there, head southeast, and you’ll notice that the main path goes over a chasm.

Jump down into the chasm, and there’s a cave entrance nearby. Go inside and TM108 will be lying against the wall. Here’s the location of the cave:

The second place to find TM108 is somewhere in the North Paldean Sea. Fly to the North Province (Area One) Watchtower, then head northwest into the sea. TM108 is on the northern tip of a small rocky island.

Once you’ve obtained a copy of TM108, you can craft copies of it at any TM Machine. You’ll need the following materials:

  • 8,000 LP
  • Yungoos Fur x 3
  • Bruxish Tooth x 3
  • Maschiff Fang x 5
