Cranidos is one of the two fossil Pokemon in the Sinnoh Regional Pokedex for Pokemon Brilliant Diamond and Shining Pearl. But players are confused as to where they should be looking to find their own Cranidos in Pokemon Shining Pearl.
If you’ve been having the same doubts, then you’re in the right place. Read on to have all your questions answered!
Where to Catch Cranidos in Pokemon Shining Pearl
In the original Generation 4 games, Pokemon Diamond and Pearl, the games let you choose between the 2 fossils at a certain point in the story. Such is not the case with Pokemon Brilliant Diamond and Shining Pearl.
Unfortunately, you cannot get Cranidos in Pokemon Shining Pearl through the base game itself. Pokemon Shining Pearl lets you have access to getting Shieldon instead, Cranidos’ counterpart fossil Pokemon. Through the base game itself, Cranidos is only available in Pokemon Brilliant Diamond.
If you don’t plan on playing Pokemon Brilliant Diamond anytime soon, and want Cranidos in your party or to complete your Pokedex collection in Pokemon Shining Pearl, then your only option is to find a player who has a Cranidos and is willing to trade it away to you.
The usual method to get Cranidos in Pokemon Brilliant Diamond is the same as how you would get Shieldon in Pokemon Shining Pearl:
- Get into the Grand Underground.
- Engage in the digging mini-game.
- Stand a chance to dig up a:
- Dome Fossil if you’re playing Pokemon Shining Pearl.
- Skull Fossil if you’re playing Pokemon Brilliant Diamond.
You then take either fossil to Oreburgh City in the Mining Museum. Speak to the male NPC behind the counter, who will revive Cranidos from the Skull Fossil, or Shieldon from the Dome Fossil.
