Where to Get Blast Cores in LEGO Fortnite

Not to be confused with Blast Powder, Blast Cores are a rare resource in LEGO Fortnite. True to their name, they’re volatile and ready to blow at any moment. Such power is needed by buildings like the aforementioned Metal Smelter, so you’ll eventually need to get your hands on some Blast Cores if you want to make better tools.

Blast Cores are dropped by Blasters, which are essentially the fiery variants of Rollers, the crab-like creatures that attack you by barreling into you. These guys are uncommon enemies found exclusively within the Lava Caves, which are found in Dry Valley biomes.

By the way, since you’re in the Lava Caves, did you know that you can mine a lot of important resources there, such as Copper ore? Check out our guide on how to get Copper Bars in LEGO Fortnite for more details.

Instead of rolling at you, Blasters ignite the core within the rock on their backs and attempt to blow you up by detonating near you, similar to a Creeper from Minecraft. You can attempt to slay them before they explode, or you can simply run away and wait for them to blow up. Either way makes them drop a Blast Core.

If you plan on running away, make sure you have full stamina. If you do want to try taking them down yourself, we recommend using at least an Uncommon Longsword, as the Shortsword may not deal enough damage in time. No matter which method you choose, just make sure to steer clear of the explosion, as it deals massive damage!

As mentioned, Blasters are somewhat uncommon, depending on how your cave was generated and your own personal luck. If you’re having trouble finding them, keep an eye out for their signature rocks, which look like mini-volcanoes in the ground.
