How to smelt Copper Bars in LEGO Fortnite

In LEGO Fortnite, your tools and weapons are your main form of progression. The higher rarity tools you have, the more resources you can collect, which means unlocking more items to craft. Once you get to the rare tier of tools, you’ll start needing Copper Bars.

To craft a Copper Bar, you need to first build a Metal Smelter, which requires the following resources:

  • Brightcore x 15
  • Obsidian Slab x 35
  • Blast Core x 3

All these resources can be found inside Lava Caves, which themselves are located within Dry Valley desert biomes. Obsidian can be found in clusters on the walls of Lava Caves, and Brightcore is found near lava pools. They both need a Rare Pickaxe or better to mine. Blast Cores are dropped from Lava Rollers, which can be identified by their volcano-like shells.

Once you have a Metal Smelter, you can start smelting Copper Ore. One Copper Bar requires:

  • Copper x 1
  • Brightcore x 2

Where to find Copper

Copper is located within the Lava Caves, just like the rest of the resources you needed. Copper ore looks like brown rocks, with green and gray bases. You’ll need a Rare Pickaxe to mine them. They’re very common in the Lava Caves, so just explore for a bit and you’ll probably run into a lot sitting on the walls of the cave.

Where to find Brightcore

As mentioned, Brightcore is another type of ore that is found in the Lava Caves. As usual, you’ll need a Rare Pickaxe or better to successfully mine it. You can find Brightcore sitting nearby lava, including lava pools and lava falls.

Brightcore is very easy to spot thanks to its bright, yellowish shine. It’s a bit risky, but you’ll have to get very close to the lava in order to find some Brightcore, so make sure you have ways of improving your heat resistance, like Snowberry Shakes.
